SAVE OUR FRIENDS!
CLICK THIS LINK!!!I went to the Coney Island Aquarium this past Tuesday, it is a shame to see that even our beloved friends of the sea are feeling the economic crunch that we are all facing. If you are unaware, The New York State Legislature has voted to secure Fiscal Year 2009 funding for zoos, botanical gardens, and aquariums. However, we continue to face a 100 percent cut of state funding for 2010!!!

Please support our aquariums! When I went this past week, the exhibits that are open all look healthy and still full of wild life, however, The Alien Stingers exhibit is closed off, and one of their Walrus tanks has been drained. I do not know the reasons for this, it may just be seasonal, but regardless we need to help our local Aquariums because they are the front line for education of our youth in underwater conservation and to show them the beauty that is below the surface. Please comment on these issues if you know any information!
